CSEA was originally organized in 1966 by the classified employees of Jefferson County Public Schools. In 1972 we incorporated, hence this is our 38 year anniversary as a corporation.
CSEA was established to collectively bargain for and to provide representation on behalf of all classified employees of Jefferson County Public Schools. CSEA is designed to be a responsive, flexible organization able to initiate and maintain an effective channel of communication with School District administration.
CSEA negotiated its first contract in 1972. Since that time many improvements have been made on behalf of classified employees including (but not limited to): · Wage Increases and Longevity Increments · Sick Leave, Extended Sick Leave, and Long-term Disability Benefits · Vacation Time · Health, Vision, and Dental Insurance · Flex Dollars · Personal, Bereavement, Maternity, and Military Leaves · And many, many more that have greatly affected the working conditions for classified employees. |

CSEA is comprised of seven constituent organizations:
Ÿ JCAEOP Ÿ Jefferson County Association of Educational Office Professionals (Representing: Secretaries, Technicians, ESL Tutors, and Para-Educators)
Ÿ JCAP Ÿ Jefferson County Association of Paraprofessionals (Representing: Paraprofessionals and Clinic Aides)
Ÿ JCMA Ÿ Jefferson County Maintenance Association (Representing: Maintenance, Equipment Repair, Security and Landscape)
Ÿ JCSFSA Ÿ Jefferson County Schools Food Service Association (Representing: Managers and Hourly Workers)
Ÿ JCSSA Ÿ Jefferson County Support Services Association (Representing: Custodians, Facility Managers, WOTC Technicians, Small Engine Mechanics, Campus Supervisors, and Warehouse Workers)
Ÿ JCTA Ÿ Jefferson County Transportation Association (Representing: Bus Drivers, Assistants, Trainers, Service Specialists)
Ÿ Mechanics Ÿ R-1 Mechanics Association (Representing: Bus and Vehicle Mechanics, Body and Paint technicians, and Fleet Warehouse.)
All functions of CSEA are administrated through the CSEA Executive Board. The Executive Board is made up of the president and one additional representative from each constituent organization.
